I've waited to check this out before I commented on this design flaw on the cross-member pole. Once the cross-member pole has been attached to the grommets and before the rain fly has been put on, I find that the end of the cross-member only has the bare metal pushing against the fly material creating a wear point on this reenforced portion of the tent. It would have been great if Nature hike would have attached a hard rubber cap which could be pushed onto the ends of this crossover pole to prevent damage to the tent especially when all staked out. In the wind this cross-member moves and can after a bit wear a hole in the tent at this area, metal on fabric.

I have one that has steel legs and I like it, except for the legs sinking into the mud. I always carry it because it's comfortable. I keep paracord and my camp saw in the pouch. It packs well.

Old snugpak is great new stuff is crap made by 12 year olds in a sweat shop If it says made in China I return it and support small outdoor companies that mAke thing's in the UK

Man I'm sorry, I don't like to say much negative but, that is a crazy amount of weight and there is no water proofing of anything. Got a tarp for when you stop but no liner or even a pack cover. Even a little bit of rain and good chance your lower compartment is soaked. I wish you luck.

I've had the exact same issues with my shoulder, but it's my left arm . The doctor gave me a prescription made up of nerve pain meds and muscle relaxers. It's worked well but I'm tired of putting a bandaid over it and not fixing the actual issue that's causing it.

I have always lived hand to mouth and the 90's I used to shop REI's Seattle store ... and always assumed their prices were fair for what one got which was always decent to great. So what the heck happened? I left Seattle 2001 for Hawai'i, so no idea why they went for the elite prices. How stupid was that?!?

My personal awning is an old tarp,stretches completely over my old truck I either stake it or tie it off if tree's are available when camp is broken it goes in the truck toolbox. 😊

Enjoyed this video. I looked up your shoes because you seemed to slip in and out of them easily....turns out I have the exact same shoes! Do you not have them tied very tightly? I have to untie mine to take them off and then tie them again to put them back on! And that stove looks sweet! But my 30 year old Coleman still works great...

Once, when 30 yrs younger, worked for a regional outfitters. It was a well-known and respected company. But a non-family member was put in charge and started buying trendy "outdoorsy" crap. I learned from my training clinics and from my wilderness peers that I just did not need "the best" and most expensive gear. I really needed, and wanted, simple. I traded off my gear, donating most of it to a close friend purusing a PhD who was told to get out more to learn the plants he was studying. So he received some cool stuff and used the hell out of it. My gear turned into a qualtiy backpack and a sewing awl that turned it into my perfect backpack. I still modify everything but now I modify cheaper or recon-ed stuff. This where REI fell off the map, when they stopped being a "granola-centric" company at heart. Now they are activists who push over-priced gear that no one normally needs, or needs at that level of construction. Their employees are not knowledgable generally, althogh some still work there for the discount and use their gear. I miss the regionals when they were scappy. Hudson Trail Outfitters, Eastern Mountain Sports, and all the rest who offer quality advice and guidance to newcomers to outdoor experiences and meaningful gear and community for those of us who love finding, "anyplace wild." That is, those rare locations with no indication of human civilizations. Take only memories, leave only footprints!

If you can’t get your tent inside the back out it on the top outside of the pack, the heaviest weight should be as high and as close to your back as possible.

Luke, have you ever tried a Thermocell device? They work. They are inexpensive too. I have been using one for years.

I have a t4 plus, what I love about it is that it sets up quick, it’s spacious, it packs easy and has plenty of storage. I love that it doesn’t flap in the wind. I didn’t realise that quality was such a big issue with their tents, I thought my issue was a one off, one of the pulls on the top is longer than the rest and for that it always stands kinda tilted. I did realise that it doesn’t ventilate as well as some of the reviews say it does. All in all though, I do not regret buying it. I enjoy using it, fast setup/pack-up was a priority for me.

As a person that has worked SAR for many years, we use "The Extractor" by Sawyer for bee stings, snake bites, etc. It has saved many lives. Just my two cents.

I joined REI in 1975. Used to be a great place with knowledgeable staff. Now it’s a political place with woke staff. I dont shop there anymore.
